Come, Ye Children of the Lord

Come, Ye Children of the Lord, piano solo (intermediate)
PDF, mp3

James H. Wallis penned the following words about the triumphant day of Christ's return:

Oh, how joyful it will be
When our Savior we shall see!
When in splendor he'll descend,
Then all wickedness will end.
Oh, what songs we then will sing
To our Savior, Lord, and King!
Oh, what love will then bear sway
When our fears shall flee away!

Set to a lively Spanish melody, "Come, Ye Children of the Lord" is an invitation to all to rejoice in life, to come unto Christ and prepare for His return to earth. This piano solo setting of this melody is my hopeful cry to believe the words of President Thomas S. Monson: "The future is as bright as your faith." (read the talk)

Standing on the Promises

Standing on the Promises, voice and piano
PDF mp3

I've been hiking a lot this summer, and have been greatly impressed by the glorious mountains of the Wasatch Front. They are majestic and imposing, yet beautiful and strong. There is a great feeling from climbing atop a waterfall or cliff face and feeling like you're on top of the world!

My mind goes to this scripture in the Book of Mormon:

"It is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation...a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if me build, they cannot fall." Helaman 5:12

This hymn encompasses my feelings and desire to build my life upon the Rock of Christ, my Savior. The driving beat and the syncopation showcase the excitement and joy that comes from being firmly rooted in our Savior.

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, piano solo (intermediate)
PDF mp3

Recently, I have had some wonderful experiences of miracles and great blessings from the hand of the Lord. One particular day after work, I found myself singing this song on my car ride home, and felt to arrange this piano solo as a praise to Him, who makes everything work so well!

Psalm 150:

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
